Deck 4 – Crew Deck
The Crew Deck is the living centre of the ship. This deck is located on deck 4 and houses the following areas:
- Mess hall. This is were the crew can come to enjoy a meal or simply to talk to each other with a view on the stars.
- Officer’s quarters.
- Tram Station 4A. In section A of this deck, there is a tram station for quick transport to other sections on this deck towards the stern of the ship.
- Sports center. The sports center is large enough for most indoor sports like volleyball, basketball, and fitness. For sports that require more space, like football or baseball, crew members can use the holodeck.
- AVR room. Augmented and Virtual Reality Room(aanvullen)
- Crew quarters. Most of the quarters of the junior crew are also located on this deck.
- Stellar cartography. This science lab is used to study various astronomical phenomena, create detailled maps of regions of space, and to help determine the optimal course to fly for the ship.
- Hydroponics. In addition to the protein resequencers, a small variety of crops can be grown in a controlled environment in the hydroponics bay.
- Arboretum. Because taking a walk in the forest is often not possible, and the holodeck cannot simulate ‘real’ fresh air, the Event Horizon contains an indoor park, the arboretum. Althouh modest in size, most people find a walk through the arboretum very relaxing.
